MEGACROC BOOK REVIEW: MAYHEM AND MADNESS, CAN YOU SURVIVE?

Joey Kelly (also known by the pen name Julian Michael Carver) is an Amazon Bestselling Author, writing works based in the lost world sub-genre of science fiction.

Something Has Awakened In the remote stretches of southern Florida, a string of deadly animal attacks begin to surface near the borders of a housing development project. When the evidence at the latest scene suggests that a massive predator may be the source of the carnage, a local crocodilian specialist is brought in as a consultant. Soon an effort is launched by the police and the coast guard to successfully locate and capture the ancient creature, which threatens the lives of everyone in the expedition, as well as the surrounding communities.

You want to hunt for the beastie from the Florida Everglades, huh?

If you love Lake Placid or creature features in general, then Megacroc is the book for you. The hunt for a killer in Southern Florida reveals more than just intrigue around crocodiles but also interpersonal drama surrounding the characters that populate the pages of this glorious creature-feature novel.

The writing is crisp, the pace is fast yet not rushed, and there's nothing like reading a book full of action to take you away from reality, and some cool set-pieces. The ending could have been perceived better, maybe a little rushed, or lacking a few chapters just to tie-off a few points. And poor Charlie (you just know when a character is cannon-fodder!) in any B-Grade movie, and yikes, the man had to go, really, he did.

But overall, the story caught and held my attention just like the big beastie catching 'its' prey... Julian has other titles out too! Triassic: A New Era in Prehistoric Terror will be my next read of his.

4/5 STARS
