Matthew P. Norman - Culture Demands Geeks is a speculative fiction writer. His debut novel published by (Severed Press) is the wonderful, apocalyptic, zombie-filled Road Trip Z. (Book 2 in the epic zombie series that will take you on a ride through the apocalypse, is now out). In his spare time, Matt is currently writing other novels: a dark urban YA/Crossover called Dark Days and a futuristic vampire tale.
You can find him on his website, reviewing movies, TV shows, and writing geeky fandom news.
He was born and raised in East Anglia, Suffolk, England, where according to accounts ‘Edmund the Martyr,’ was king of East Anglia until his death. He was slain by the Danes in battle after he refused the Danes’ demand that he renounce Christ. After, they beat him, shot him with arrows and then beheaded him (a grizzly way to go!)
According to one legend, his head was then thrown into the forest, but was found safe by his followers after following the cries of an ethereal wolf that was calling, in Latin, “Hic, Hic, Hic” – “Here, Here, Here”.
By his mid-twenties, Matt knew it was time to find ‘his own way in the world’ leaving behind his family and friends, he decided to leave the UK and embarked on traveling the globe. A quick stop in Hong Kong, Australia (where he found everything under the hot red sun which wanted to kill him!), and finally traveled across Asia.
And now…
Matt lives in Christchurch on the shores of the South Island of New Zealand with a wonderful family and two very stupid cats.
If you’re after happy, fuzzy tales with unicorns and teddy bears then you’ve come to the wrong place. His novels come in all shades of grey, and, err... red and are populated with characters of questionable morals and a liking for witty banter.
Please ask him questions, and give as many reviews as possible!
