WATCH OUT DEATH STAR- chaos is just a few hours away in a distant universe…

The Force has awoken, and the galaxy is in trouble. Who will sort out the intergalactic troubles – the heroes and scoundrels of the universe will…

We’re now less than 6 hours away from the opening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. So, let’s tackle some of the more pressing questions:

1: Rogue One is a stand-alone story about a young Rebel’s mission to stop an Imperial Death Star, but will we see the same tone as we saw in The Force Awakens?

Rogue One is not a throwback the way Force Awakens was, or has the constraints of being the star in the franchise. The Rogue film-makers (fingers crossed, rebels) should and have had more free to take storytelling risks. And judging by the supreme trailers, we’re in for one helluve ride. The tone will be darker for sure and somewhat ‘mature’.

2: Will we see old-school (no, not Will Ferrell and lots of laughs) Darth Vader, or something new?

James Earl Jones is back for sure with his space-filled voice. But with technology changing since the first films graced our screens, what is the prospect of a Darth Vader for the 21st-century viewers. With modern effects and stella choreography of battles – the possibilities are endless. And there’s no guarantee that Darth will brandish a lightsaber, either, maybe, a plasma gun!

3: More Heroine’s, at last! And will the lead Rogue heroine, Jyn, play a similar role in the film?

Jyn (Felicity Jones) will be an even, greater driving force in the film. While Force had so many characters to introduce, and reintroduce (we love you Han). Even if Rogue partly plays like a heist picture (imagine Ocean’s 11 and, er, 12, with team members also stealing scenes, Felicity Jones appears to be the central character from the Rebel pack.

4: What will the other Rebel members add?

Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera is the heavy-armed battle-hardened vet with heaps of advice and hope. Donnie Yen’s sightless Chirrut Imwe seems to be strong with the Force or a mystical power of some-kind!

Diego Luna’s Captain Cassian Andor has your Han Solo-esque swag about him. A love interest for Jyn as well, maybe, of just a badass commander trying to keep her on track?

And Mr Bad himself, Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Orson Krennic. Nothing will stop this guy, even Darth Vader, it seems.

5: Who is the new imposing droid?

Droids are the comic relief in the Star Wars films – and so might be K-2SO, with a slightly darker, murkier edge. (Here’s hoping he’s C3POs cous, but we know it’s really, Alan Tudyk!) But K-2SO looks to be quite the departure from a serving droid. He’s got somewhat of an attitude (we already love him), and he is there to help – if he’s instructed to.

So grab hold of your helmets, lightsabers and popcorn and get ready to explore our favourite universe all over again, folks. Rogue One: A star Wars Story is hitting our screens (and the sound of a hundred planets celebrate in union.)
