When Halloween opens this year with the premiere of Stranger Things season 2, Culturedemandsgeeks thinks there’s certainly a lot of questions posed for the fate of our favourite gang, especially with the past year since the fall of the Demogorgon.
Now, the Duffer brothers have given fans a sneak peek of some plot details (via Entertainment Weekly), so we can understand where our footing will be once we dive back into the story.
It will also be Halloween in the town of (not 90s Eerie) Indiana, as the exclusive photo suggests. The four friends are all dressed and ready for trick-or-treating as the Ghostbusters. Will is in their midst, seemingly healthy happy and healthy. Though we shouldn’t get too cosy about this, because the slug that he coughed up isn’t going away anytime soon.
“He seems to be seeing images from the Upside Down—the question is whether they’re real or not. So it seems like he’s having some sort of post-traumatic stress disorder.”
We also get to know that Winona Ryder’s character Joyce is getting cosy with an old flame mostly to mask what has happened and provide a potential good father to her sons. Though if you ask me, Hopper’s own actions to protect the Byers family is something more meaningful, as he continues to play the protective friend and guardian.
Returning cast! We love em!
More importantly, the second season will also usher in two more characters into their midst. Brother-sister duo Max and Billy (portrayed by Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery respectively) will definitely shake things up a bit, teases the Duffer director-brothers.
While Max is more of a nice romantic interest for the boys, Billy will definitely be something more sinister and worth watching out cautiously for.
“Stephen King always has really great human villains. The evil in the real world is often as bad or worse than the supernatural evil, so we wanted to introduce a character like that.”
This may fall under the “different kinds of horror” that the Duffer brothers are exploring this season. But the biggest question is: Where oh, where is Eleven? Can’t wait and see more teasers folks!
Stranger Things will be back this Halloween for a second run on the mighty Netflix.
