Remember Stephen Moyer. Chest, fangs and eternal sunshine phobia?! The English film and television actor and director who is best known as vampire Bill Compton in the HBO series True Blood has just been picked by Fox to headline their upcoming pilot based within the X-Men universe. The drama focuses on the regular parents of mutant children and their attempt to escape the hostile government attempting to round up all mutants.
True Blood veteran Moyer has been tapped to play the father of the family, Reed: who is described as an ambitious lawyer trying to keep the balance between a busy work life and time with his family.
The project hails from writer Matt Nix and Bryan Singer who will direct the pilot. Nix penned the pilot and will serve as executive producer with Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory and Singer. 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel Television are producing.
Culturedemandsgeeks loved Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton and would love to see him in a Marvel series. Moyer will join Blair Redford and Jamie Chung in the cast for a project that is slowly taking shape with every headline it gets. Let’s hope that the series is not only good, but it doesn’t get the Fox cancellation that literally every sci-fi series that comes to the network seems to get much too soon
Coming up, Moyer will star on Fox’s police brutality event series “Shots Fired.” He also recently starred in Kurt Sutter’s “Bastard Executioner” on FX.
ALSO: Jamie Chung to Play Blink in Fox’s Marvel Pilot From Bryan Singer. Another X-Men character has been cast in Fox’s Marvel pilot. Chung will star as Blink, the popular character from the comics with the power of teleportation.

Chung is the second series regular to sign onto the pilot. She joins Blair Redford (“Switched At Birth”) who will play another mutant, Sam, the strong-headed leader of the underground network. A slew of other superhero characters are currently in the process of being cast.
