With so much negative publicity and horde of terrible reviews, it didn’t come as a surprise that last year’s Ghostbuster reboot didn’t do so well at the box office. Last Sunday, original Ghostbusters actor Dan Aykyroyd went ahead and criticized the reboot film’s director Paul Fieg saying that the reason why the 2016 Ghostbusters failed was because he hadn’t listened to Sony’s reaction to the film.

Because of that, Aykroyd went and criticized Ghostbusters saying that Feig’s negligence cost the studio reshoots that would come around $30 to $40 million. Sony came to Feig’s rescue, saying that the film reshoots didn’t cost $30 to $40 million but instead $3-4 million.
Despite this, Aykroyd continued to go after the Ghostbusters reboot, taking to Facebook to fire another shot at the movie. First offering praise to Paul Feig, the original Ghostbusters star’s message quickly transformed into another critique.
“Paul Feig made a good movie and had a superb cast and plenty of money to do it. We just wish he had been more inclusive to the originators. It cost everyone as it is unlikely Kristen, Leslie, Melissa and Kate will ever reprise their roles as Ghostbusters which is sad.”

While true, Akroyd’s criticism against Ghostbuster reboot comes a little bit too late. Last year when the film came out, the actor spoke positively about the film’s cast. Now’s a little bit too late to let Feig know that he didn’t do so well working o the 2016 Ghost Busters.
Sooooooooo what do you Culturedemandsgeeks think of this new development? Sour grapes from a beloved actor that Ghostbusters 3 never came to fruition earlier? Or, the film was not that great, anyway?
