NETFLIX BINGE WATCHING SEASON BEGINS!!!

Netflix has no shortage of thrillers to binge on. From psychological dramas to sci-fi, and from fantasy to comic book adaptations, there really is something for everyone.

Here’s our round-up of the five best thrillers to watch on Netflix right now.

Gypsy

Double Oscar nominee Naomi Watts takes centre stage in brand new Netflix thriller Gypsy. Watts stars as Jean Holloway, a therapist in New York. Jean takes more than a professional interest in her patients’ lives in this intense, slow-burning psychological thriller.

The Gypsy cast is rounded out by Billy Crudup (Eat Pray Love, Mission Impossible III) and Gwyneth Paltrow’s mother, Blythe Danner (Will & Grace, Medium).

Bloodline

“We’re not bad people, but we did a bad thing.” Bloodline is a tense thriller mixing family drama with a dark tale of drug running and murder. When the black sheep son of the family returns home to celebrate his parents’ wedding anniversary at the family’s idyllic Florida hotel, he brings havoc in his wake.

Soon, his family’s seemingly perfect lives are under threat as dark secrets from the past threaten to bubble up to the surface. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Florida Keys, Bloodline tells the story of the Rayburn family.

Starring Sissy Spacek (Badlands, Carrie) and Sam Shepard (Steel Magnolias, August: Osage County) as well as Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights, Zero Dark Thirty), some other familiar faces also crop up such as Chloe Sevigny (Kids, Big Love), John Leguizamo (Romeo + Juliet, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar) and Beau Bridges (The Fabulous Baker Boys, Jerry Maguire).

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is a private detective with a difference – a former superhero, she is haunted by a traumatic past.

The series also features another Marvel character, Luke Cage, who was in turn also the protagonist of his own Netflix show – called Marvel’s Luke Cage

Krysten Ritter plays Jessica Jones. Former Doctor Who David Tennant plays Jessica’s nemesis, Kilgrave. The cast is rounded out by Mike Colter (The Good Wife, Luke Cage) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, Humans).

Hemlock Grove

If you liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood and Twilight, you might like Hemlock Grove. The fantasy thriller is based on a book by Brian McGreevy.

In the fictional town of Hemlock Grove, Pennsylvania, a series of brutal murders reveals dark secrets hiding beneath the town’s surface – where many of the town’s residents are not what they seem.

Featuring a heavy dose of fantasy in the form of werewolves, vampires and all manner of other creatures, Hemlock Grove stars former Bond girl Famke Janssen, alongside Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives, Soldier Soldier) and newcomers Landon Liboiron and Bill Skarsgard (brother of True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard).

Black Mirror

Take a trip to imagined worlds of the near future in sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror.

Black Mirror features a host of household names including Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), Kelly MacDonald (Trainspotting, Boardwalk Empire) and James Norton (Grantchester, War and Peace).
