Netflix has listed the specific release dates schedule for some of Marvel TV series that are premiering next year, and Culturedemandsgeeks takes a quick spin through 2017 and brings you a handful of new series.
The earliest show that will debut in 2017 is the first season of Iron Fist. Starring Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones (known for being lovely Loras Tyrell), Iron Fist has already been in development for a while, and following the trailers giving fans a sneak peek of the show, the show is looking to be a good one.
Also coming in for its first season is The Defenders, slated for an early fall 2017 premiere, with its exact release date still to be announced. It serves as a nice wrap-up for the first few seasons and premieres for the gang of Defenders.
The Punisher, spinoff series centered on Jon Bernthal’s gun-toting Daredevil vigilante is finally getting his own series following. With no release date yet, it’s still pegged to come earlier than the next seasons of older shows.
As for the older series, the three bigwigs that have served as good foundations of Marvel TV series. The second season of Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter, the third for Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox, and the second run for Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter are all slated for either a late 2018 or an early 2019 launch.
The good thing though, is the fact that all three will receive a continuation. Daredevil and Jessica Jones were both confirmed back in Comic-Con 2016, so a third and a second season respectively are already green-lit. As for Luke Cage, the second season has already been confirmed just this month, so production may take a while.
Just recently, it was also announced that Netflix and Marvel will be re-launching some of its hit series with HDR improvements (so the gloves are off, the trouble about to begin, can’t wait!)
