The Oscar-winning breakout star of 2013’s 12 Years a Slave, and having freaked us out with her performance in Jordan Peele’s stellar Us, star Lupita Nyong’o is once again returning to the horror genre for Little Monsters with barrelfuls-of-laughs.
The horror-comedy about a school trip that’s unexpectedly interrupted by a zombie outbreak now has a red band trailer, so prepare for flesh-eating, swearing, and more flesh-eating.
Little Monsters sees washed-up musician Dave (Alexander England) volunteer to help out with his nephew’s kindergarten school trip in a desperate attempt to impress teacher Miss Caroline (Nyong’o).
However, as you’d expect, things don’t exactly go to plan when zombies suddenly take over the trip, leaving Dave and Miss Caroline to chaperone the kids through the ensuing chaos.
Beauty and the Beast‘s Josh Gad also stars as a world-famous kids’ entertainer who, when the chips are down, don’t care too much about the safety of the children. It’s Miss Caroline’s job to make sure the kids aren’t all scared (or eaten) to death, telling them that the zombies aren’t real and pretending the whole fiasco is one giant game of tag.
Little Monsters is the brainchild of director/writer Abe Forsythe. The Aussie actor-turned-director most recently directed the 2016 Australian comedic crime drama film, Down Under, and an array of Aussie TV shows, notably dark comedy series Laid.
The ever-inconvenient zombie apocalypse comedy looks like so much fun, with a great cast and adorable little monsters in. Anything with Lupita will at least catch our eye, and the hilarious kids’ entertainer, Josh Gad too.
But this looks funny as hell, so yeah, Culturedemandsgeeks are on board for some zombie slaying on a school trip.

Little Monsters Release Date
Little Monsters arrives in the UK and Ireland on November 15 is awaiting a U.S. release. Still no word on New Zealand or Australia release date.
