Get ready to feel uneasy once again and just in time for the Christmas period, as Black Mirror returns to Netflix with its fourth season.
The dystopian drama created by Charlie Brooker treats each episode as a stand-alone story and offers some uncomfortable prophecies for the future of technology advancements.
The all conquering online platform, that is… Netflix is about to make six new episodes available – find out more about each of them and see the new trailers here.
Crocodile
Set in Iceland, Crocodile takes place in a future where memories are no longer private.
But of course, memories are always subjective – and this episode looks at how they can be twisted to change the record of history.
Birdman’s Andrea Riseborough stars and The Road’s John Hillcoat is the director.
Arkangel
This episode presents a terrifying future for children, where it’s been decided that the key to good parenting is control.
In order to gain control of their kids, families are taking their little ones to a sinister-looking clinic to have needles injected into their temples, but where will this new development lead?
La La Land and Mad Men actress Rosemarie Dewitt stars in this episode, which has been directed by Jodie Foster.
Hang the DJ
Online dating can be panic-inducing at the best of times, but in this episode a new dating app has made the whole process even more fraught.
It chooses not only who you can date, but how long your relationship should last, too. Surely some star-crossed lovers will want to override the system?
Peaky Blinders actor Joe Cole and Broadchurch’s Georgina Campbell take lead roles, with Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones director Tim Van Patten in charge.
USS Callister
A futuristic series would be nothing without stepping aboard a spaceship at some point, and will be Culturedemandsgeeks favourite standout episode.
USS Callister takes a fun swipe at Star Trek, which could either delight or disgust fans with its spoof.
Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons and The Wolf of Wall Street’s Cristin Milioti feature in the episode.
Metalhead
Expect a stylish instalment with Metalhead, which is Black Mirror’s first-ever entirely black and white episode.
The unlucky characters here are on the run from a pack of vicious robot dogs who are taking over the planet.
Maxine Peake stars in Metalhead, while Breaking Bad and American Gods’ David Slade directs.
Black Museum
A visit to the Black Museum doesn’t sound like the greatest day out – apparently, each of its items has been a part of something pretty bad.
Each one has a sad or sick story to tell, which must make this a dangerous place to be.
Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright, and Babs Olusanmokun star, and the director is Colm McCarthy.
Black Mirror season 4 is available from Friday, December 29 on Netflix.
