Domhnall Gleeson is a talented actor, and he’s been in several movies like Ex-Machina, Frank, About Time, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens SHOWING OFF HIS ACTING CHOPS… Gleeson is also working on this stunning biopic called Goodbye Christopher Robin, and it follows the author of Winnie the Pooh, and how his books managed to help bring hope to a war torn England.
Here’s the synopsis:
Goodbye Christopher Robin gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin, whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh. Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?
The movie has a star-studded cast, and besides Suicide Squad’s Margot Robbie, you’ll recognize Kelly Macdonald from Boardwalk Empire. (Macdonald is also the voice behind protagonist Merida from Pixar’s Brave just in case you didn’t know!) One last bit about Macdonald, she’s also starred in another movie about a classic author—Finding Neverland.
In that movie, Johnny Depp plays J.M. Barrie, as he gets inspiration from a family to write about Peter Pan (whom MacDonald played in the movie). That movie also starred a little Freddie Highmore way before he was psycho Norman Bates in Bates Motel.
Goodbye Christopher Robin actually looks pretty interesting, and that production value looks absolutely stunning. Catch the movie when it comes out Sept. 29.
