CHICKEN RUN 2… after 18 years!

We’ve been hearing whispers about this for a good couple of months now, but now it’s official: Aardman is making a sequel to Chicken Run, it’s been confirmed!

ParaNorman and Flushed Away co-director Sam Fell will be helming the project – Peter Lord and Nick Park co-directed the first film – whilst the screenplay is being put together by the original writers of Chicken Run, Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell.

Chicken Run tells the story of a group of chickens attempting to escape the dreaded slaughter house, going to military-esque lengths to thwart their owners who have gone into the chicken pot pie business.

The first film put Aardman on the cinematic map after gaining an army of fans for their work on TV mainstays Wallace & Gromit, and the sequel will reportedly begin production after completion of Shaun The Sheep 2.

Peter Lord and David Sproxton are producing the movie.

Will the studio re-hire Mel Gibson to voice the role of Rocky the Rooster?

Who knows!

But the iconic Australian, is coming back into the wonderful world of film.

Fingers crossed, Mel will be back to portray the titular lead.
